MEANING OF STRESS
When we have too much pressure in our every day life and when our basic life-handling skills are not good enough our stress level is going to increase.
When it goes too high it causes trouble and at certain point, when there is one stone too much in our bag we need some help.It's a question of values, aims and life-handling skills when we think about having the stress level low enough.
What is important in our life and how we are going to live with it?When stress level is growing too high, medication may help as first aid and if it doesn't help then we need more psychosocial stress control = to learn those basic skills to manage in our life:
- to be merciful to ourselves
- to have enough good relationships
- to do something meaningful but not too much
- to be able to rest and relax. In movie therapy we can use both mirror and window dimension to lower stress level and help people to have better life-handling skills.
Using comedy can be very helpful or in many cases using strong and touching drama about people who are very stressed or hopeless in their own life.
Often it helps to notice that other people have same kind of problems too and those problems can be solved although may take some time.
